Makin' moves... good riddance Pedro Strop!

According to ESPN MLB Insider Keith Law, the Orioles have dumped... er... traded Pedro Strop and Jake Arrieta for 30-year-old veteran starting pitcher Scott Feldman.

The Baltimore Orioles' starting pitchers have churned out a 4.79 ERA—good for third worst in the American League. Feldman is only 7-6 this season, but he's made 15 starts, posted a 3.46 ERA and has a WHIP of 1.14, which is very good. (WHIP is Walks and Hits per Innings Pitched, for those normal people out there who don't know every ridiculous baseball acronym).

Feldman isn't going to make our rotation a bunch of world-beaters. But this move is akin to when we brought in Joe Saunders last year. He's going to be reliable and he's going to eat up some innings, which our bullpen will welcome with open arms.

It isn't a sexy move, but Buck knows this guy, likes him, and our starting rotation looks a hell of a lot better than it did yesterday:

1. Tillman
2. Hammel
3. Feldman
4. Miguel Gonzalez
5. Wei Yin Chen (if he's healthy. If not, then Britton/ Gausman/ Wada/ who cares)
